NDT : les scans proviennent d'une version chinoise de Comte Cain. Strawberry avait retranscrit elle-même les noms des personnages en Angus et Selina. J'ai remplacé ces noms par ceux de la VF, qui sont plus proches de la version japonaise : Andrew et Sabina.

 

 

"Stepmother killed me; Papa ate me; Little sister picked my bones under the table, wrapped with a piece of cloth --- buried me under the pine . . . "

Cain: "This is the tree of "The Legendary Pine" ! Riff, have you heard of if before?! If you bury the bones under this pine tree in a full moon night, the dead would alive again ---- just like what the legend says. . . "

The noble woman: "Where is Cain? Will he show up today?"
"Today is an important day to that boy. It's a family meeting!"
Riff : " Yes, Madame! I've already asked the people to find him . . ."

Andrew (thinks):
This family meeting is a competition for the kin to gain the right of being Cain's guardian. And yet, only me know that Cain would never show up. Yes! Because . . .

The kin shout : " CAIN? "

Cain : " Riff, this is . . . Where am I ?"
Riff : " Young Master Cain! Your body is with mud and hurts . . . "
Cain : " I can't remember more . . . It seems that someone hit me last night . . . "


A voice : " Sabina, what are you doing here? "
Sabina (in fear) : " ah . . . ah . . . ! "
Andrew (to Sabina) : " You look pale! Take a rest there ! "
Sabina : " I beg your pardon, Master Andrew."
A man :" The meeting has to postponed then . . . "
Andrew : " Oh, certainly. . . "

Sabina (insecure and fearful) : " Master Andrew! It's Cain. Oh, NO. How could this be?" " Wasn't he . . . ? "

Andrew recalls:
Sabina and I stole some antiques from the Hargreaves' treasure basement. We tried to move them out . . .
A stranger :" Who is it?"
- someone saw us ? -
Andrew (shouts to the stranger): " You bastard! Try to escape ?"
Sabina : " Cain? " "He is Young Master Cain . . . . . . "
Andrew :" You don't know your master?"
Sabina : " Yes. Because those allowed to serve Young Master Cain are limited to a few servants and Mr. Riff. "

Andrew (thinks):
Damn it. . . If this is discovered by anyone, I am finished - especially by the successor.

Cain (wakes up) :" Oh.. who is it?"

Andrew (thinks) - he saw that? -

Sabina : " Master Andrew?"
Andrew : " Sabina, I found a solution! Only if this successor disappeared, if he dead, could my father becomes the Earl. . . and then, all the property become mine ! " shouts to Sabina, "Sabina, you carry his legs . . . Here . . . Hurry ! "
Sabina : " Yes! Yes ! "

Sabina : "Master Andrew, bury under this pine . . . "
Andrew : " Alive again? Get a life ! " (tries to comfort Sabina) " Take it easy, Sabina. From now on, we two can live happily . I Love You, Sabina . . . "
Sabina (enchanted) : " Master Andrew "


A chambermaid : " Master Andrew, You have a guest waiting."

Andrew : " Okay !"
Sabina: " Master Andrew, you dropped something. "
Cain : " That's his fiancé, Marion !"
Sabina : " Fiancé . . . ? " "Cai... Young Master Cain ! "
Cain : " They engaged five years ago."
Sabina: " Liar . . . ! It's a lie ! Master Andrew won't lie to me ! Why you disguised as Young Master Cain? What's your scheme? " "Because . . . "
Cain : " Because?" " Because ? "
Sabina : " Oh , NO!" (runs away) "Master Andrew! Master Andrew ! "

Andrew : " What brought you here? This surprised me . "

Marion: "Ah. Wasn't you who asked your people to send me the letter and told me to come here at once?!"

Andrew studies the letter carefully:
"My dear, please come here, come here to me . . . . . . "

Andrew thinks: These are child's handwriting. Was it Cain . . . ?

Sabina : " Ang... Master Andrew . . . " "That's why . . . you want the title so much . . . "
Andrew: " What do you think you are? How dare you are so impolite ! "
Sabina (in anger) : "Betrayed my master. . . and because of you, I helped you buried Young Master Cain . . . "
Andrew :" Get out! I know you not ."


Sabina (pick up a candle stand and tries to stab Andrew) :
"As long as I have you, I fear not going to the hell . .. It's All Because Of You ---- "

Riff (carrying a dead body): "You two look so alike. This youth whom you knew two days ago in the town." "In the night time, it's hard to tell who is who ; Besides, Master Andrew didn't visit you very often ."
Cain : "Bury him in the southern side of the hill."
Cain "Yesterday . . . we exchanged clothing and promised to meet under the Pine tree. He substituted me to be killed."

Cain: "He is my first friend . . . therefore -------- I must use my own power to take revenge"
Riff : "But, to where Sabina escaped ?"
Cain: " Ah! She couldn't escape more. I had her already."

A chambermaid : "Sabina! Where are you? The Police are looking for you for murder case of Master Andrew. Sabina? Where are you ?"
